Florentine Bentwood Chair
Florentine Bentwood Chair
Manufactured by Paged Meble, Poland. A comfortable chair, the prototype of which should be sought during the nineteenth-century industrial revolution. It was then that Michael Thonet created the legendary chair No.14, which redefined the design assumptions. Thanks to the patent on the technology of bending beech wood with the help of steam, the chair could be made at the same time very light and durable, and easy to transport. It was also one of the first chairs in history that consisted of such a small number of elements and was intended for self-assembly.
Florentine is a chair that ensures the continuation of the production of this iconic product. Due to the fact that the Paged Meble factory in Jasienica became part of the Thonet-Mundus furniture consortium in the 1920s, the structure developed by Thonet was legally produced in huge quantities and gradually improved. Today's version retains all the advantages of the original, it is also produced using the same, now extremely rare, technology, requiring incredible precision from craftsmen and a lot of work of human hands. Each copy of this model is slightly different from the others, which makes it a real unique one and allows you to continue the legend that was born in 1859.
